“Varlink, the York,UK based mobile computing and data capture specialist distributor is pleased to announce the launch of Opticon’s OPR-3301 wireless Bluetooth laser scanner, one of the smallest and lightest cordless laser scanners on the market.” Because the weight is set around 110g (battery included), the device is extremely lightweight and comfortable to use for prolonged scanning.

 This high-performance device is capable of scanning 100 times per second (“which provides excellent performance on all quality barcodes including 1D and PDF417 barcodes.”) It contains a Class 2 Bluetooth radio and provides up to 10 meters of remote scanning. Thanks to its integrated Bluetooth technology, the device can connect with PDA’s, laptops and tablet PC’s.

 The product will be available as a complete kit which includes the scanner, cradle, PSU, USB and RS232 interface cables. “A hands-free stand is available separately, but can also be combined with the same stand as for the OPR-3201.”
