Now it’s easier than ever to store URL’s on your mobile phone… simply capture them.  The new Firefox Mobile Barcoder add-on created by Duncan Sample generates 2D QR Code barcodes of the URL of the current page you’re viewing in your browser.  When you right click on a link it is displayed in your browser as a QR Code barcode.  The picture at left displays what the barcode looks like when it is generated.  Simply scan the code with your QR Code enabled camera phone and the URL is captured and stored.  Forget keying in long URL’s.  Now when you find a page that interests you, all you have to do is press a button to have it stored for future access.  Click here to download this Firefox add-on.

IntelliTrack has just released an updated version of their Inventory and Warehouse Management software, two great software products that I mentioned in my Inventory Applications and Warehouse Management Systems posts.  Both IntelliTrack DMS (Data Management Software) and IntelliTrack WMS (Warehouse Management Software) 7.0 will feature enhancements such as:

• Improved user interface
• Concurrent user licensing
• SQL Express & Access 2007 databases
• Microsoft VISTA compatibility

Additionally, version 7.0 has added features for each individual software program.

DMS 7.0 programs are now offered in a cost effective Lite module for entry-level DMS solutions.  DMS Lite is ideal for smaller inventories, with applications that limit the number of items inventoried at one time.  DMS Lite is available for Inventory, Stockroom, Check In-Out and Fixed Assets.  Additionally, with the exception of Package Track and the DMS Lite packages, DMS version 7.0 offers wireless ready capabilities for real-time tracking information.

WMS RF Professional 7.0 has been improved to now include a zone picking function for advanced pick and putaway options in a warehouse environment.  IntelliTrack has also said that they will be developing additional features for the WMS line in the coming months.

I attended the NiceLabel design webinar this morning and it was very informative.  This barcode labeling software seems quite simple to use and there are a variety of great design options for your barcode labels.  You can choose from numerous fonts, colors and effects.  You can also rotate text, add images, layer objects and create a database for all of your printed barcode labels.  If you missed the webinar and you’re looking to learn more about printing and designing your own barcode labels I really recommend watching the recording.  It’s only about 40 minutes and its a good showcase of what NiceLabel software can do.  You can access the recorded webinar at:

All of the hype surrounding the green initiative has many companies taking steps towards green thinking, but it may be even easier than they realize.
